Big Brother held up well on Saturday and Sunday despite coverage of the London 2012 Olympics dominating across the BBC network.
Big Brother’s rating for Caroline’s eviction on Friday was the lowest in the show’s history against a 27 million strong audience for the London 2012 Opening Ceremony, but figures managed to return to their expected levels over the weekend.
Highlights of day 53 averaged 925,000 viewers (4.2%) at 9PM (excluding +1).
Overnight figures for Channel 5+1 are currently unavailable, but this was the highest Saturday rating for three weeks when excluding timeshift.
Yesterday, 1.14 million (5.0%) tuned into Channel 5 at 9PM, with an extra 159,000 viewers on +1 bringing the total overnight rating to 1.30m.
This was down on the previous Sunday’s 1.40m, but still one of Big Brother’s best audience over the last couple of weeks.
Big Brother continues tonight at 9PM.
