Highlights of day 5 in the house were seen by 1.89 million (7.9%) at 9PM.
An impressive 276,000 viewers on +1 – one of the highest ever ratings for Big Brother on Channel 5′s timeshift service – brings the total overnight audience for the show up to 2.17 million.
The previous two series of Celebrity Big Brother to run on Channel 5 regularly rated over 2 million, but this is the first time since launch night last Wednesday that series 10 has surpassed the mark.
The episode beat Ian Brady: Endgames of a Psychopath which averaged 1.67m (2.07m inc.+1) on Channel 4, and The Riots: In Their Own Words which received 1.08m on BBC2. On BBC1, Silent Witness attracted 4.83m, while Thirteen Steps Down brought in 2.66m (3.00m inc. +1) to ITV1.
In the overall primetime audience shares, Channel 5 comfortably beat Channel 4′s 3.8% with 5.3%.
