Gareth finishes 3rd place in Celebrity Big Brother 2012.

Gareth Thomas is a retired Welsh professional rugby player who is highly commended for his success and achievements in his sport. After starting his career playing at youth level, Gareth continued his first class career at Bridgend where he stayed and returned to for a number of years.

Since coming out as an openly gay man, Gareth has become a vocal supporter of Childline and has commented that “if [coming out as gay] makes one young lad pick up the phone to Childline, then it will have been worth it.”

Lasting 23 days in the Celebrity Big Brother house he became the father figure, making the table, the beds and washing the dishes.

He will be best remembered for his determination during tasks and for his continued support to other housemates when they felt at their worst, including Nicola and Denise.

Upon leaving Gareth told Brian Dowling “I survived. I think everybody’s focus was to get to the final week”.
