Gareth Thomas is a retired Welsh professional rugby player who is highly commended for his success and achievements in his sport. After starting his career playing at youth level, Gareth continued his first class career at Bridgend where he stayed and returned to for a number of years.
He made his debut for Wales in 1995 before scoring a Welsh record in 1999 by becoming one of only seven players to score four tries for his country. He continued to break records and in the 2007 Rugby World Cup he created sporting history when he became the first Welshman to win 100 international caps in Rugby Union. He is now listed 11th in the world on the international list of leading rugby union test try scorers.
Known by the nickname “Alfie”, Gareth is famous for his unusual celebration technique. When he scores tries, he slaps his head and has sparked this popular phenomenon amongst his supporters.
Since his retirement in 2011, Gareth has continued to take part in charity work, using his influence to help others. He was voted top of the Pink List 2010 of the 101 most influential gay people in the UK and he received Stonewall’s Hero of the Year award in October 2010.
Since coming out as an openly gay man, Gareth has become a vocal supporter of Childline and has commented that “if [coming out as gay] makes one young lad pick up the phone to Childline, then it will have been
worth it.”

I like Gareth, but please someone tell him to eat with his mouth shut!! Natalie is also one who eats with an open mouth occasionally and it’s very off putting. Mind you as far as table manners go this lot are miles better than the last lot (I’m thinking mostly of Aden here)I still shudder when I think of him eating.

Gareth is kind of like Steve from the 2010 series – they both have interesting pasts (Gareth coming out and Steve with his war trauma) – but beyond those stories, they don’t actually have much to talk about. I have a feeling that Gareth will cruise to the end for being a bland yet likeable housemate and finish third or so…
You may be right there, my first instinct though when I saw him enter was that he would win. My hunches have been wrong though many a time but I wouldnt be surprised tbh. I think my favourite at the moment is definitely Michael but we have another week or so to go.
Gareth has become favourite to win with oddschecker. He is my second favourite so yesssssssss!!! Natalie is 2nd and Michael has gone down to third, most likely due to the fact that he is up for eviction and through his spats with Denise, who, by the way, has gone down to 6th.

With Romeo Micro I thought it strange that he should give the reason for nominating Michael as “he should have more respect for Denise, the mother” words to that effect but, he was ok sleeping with her in the single bed. Have gone off of him a bit tbh. x

Sue I get the impression that Gareth is totally fed up with Denise, he said rightly that he didnt want to get involved, the same as Romeo did. It was also the way he told Denise to go to bed, they have had to put up with it since day one. Nicola was trying to get out of the front door it would have been cruel to just to leave her. Denise had Frankie but I feel that Frankie only fuelled the row.
What I cannot understand though is why was it only the girls who were dancing, why not the men? Were they afraid of the final outcome of drink with the girls? The men have been pretty sensible with the exception of Kirk and Frankie and their old chatter.
Nicola wasn’t trying to get through the door, she was doing her old feel sorry for me act. She was trying to get everyone to turn agaiinst Denise and didn’t like it when she tried to get Frankie to not go and see her but Frankie could see what she was doing. Denise shouldn’t have done what she done but she did say sorry and give her a hug. The twins are milking this for more air time. Nicola is like a nasty school bully. if frankie hadn’t gone to her she would have had no one where nicola had the twins.
Sorry Sue I just feel it must be lovely to know what each individual is feeling, none of us can be sure of that. I felt that her emotions were real, they were all upset they had had a bloomin good argument. It ewas upsetting for all.

Who wouldnt be in that situation.I get upset my self when people get stressed perhaps thats why I feel for Denise .You have to admit she has had a rough ride,more tears than laughter for her.she does bring it down on her self.denise should be singing.
