24/7 Live Feed is back!
Live Feed is officially back...

Channel 4 is to bring back 24 hour live streaming from the Big Brother House for its final series which starts on June 9th. The move will give viewers the ultimate reality experience, literally enabling them to follow the action in the house as it happens, around the clock.

Live streaming of the house (see notes below) will be accessible via the official Big Brother site www.channel4.com/bigbrother. Viewers will pay a small fee to access the footage; 49p for a day pass; £1.99 for a week pass; and £14.99 for a season pass for the whole 13 week series. The money generated through the sales of passes will cover some of the costs it takes to run the streaming.

As a nod to the fans who have watched and supported the show for the past ten years Channel 4 is giving away 1000 free season passes for the feed. The giveaway will begin at 7pm on Tuesday 8th June, the day before the show launches live on Channel 4. Fans will need to register on the official Big Brother website (channel4.com./bigbrother) at this time and if they are one of the first 1000 registrations received they will be given a free pass.

Channel 4 Commissioning Editor, David Williams said
“Years ago streaming on line was less popular due to the limitations of technology, however now we know that the vast majority of fans will have access to broadband and are very active online. This is a great way of Channel 4 giving the fans the all-access action that they want, and thanking them for following the show for the past eleven years. ”

The live feed will start from the very first night (exact time TBC), once the new housemates are all in the house.

In addition to the online streaming there will be live streaming on television in the afternoons on E4 and overnight on E4 and Channel 4, as occurred for Celebrity Big Brother 7 in January. Other TV programming includes E4′s ultimate fanzine show Big Brother’s Little Brother and the late-night Big Brother’s Big Mouth hosted by Davina following each live eviction.

Why have you removed my post about what the house looks like? I saw it on IBB and thought it would be useful for fans?

    • Hi Gavin. I removed your post because it is embargoed information and is not supposed to be posted on the internet until 00:01 on Saturday. Please don’t post the information again before the embargo lifts. Thanks :)

I admire their opinions, sort of.
All along they have said that the series would be rubbish without Live Feed (especially Gavin), and in a way we all just made our selves believe that it would not – however now we know that the live streaming will return, we all overflow with emotion at the thought of ‘how good it will be’… :)

So to be in for a chance to win a free pass, do you have to be registered before Tuesday at 7pm or is that the time when you should register?

Can anyone clear this up? :)

    • Hi Matty,

Registration will open up at 7PM on Tuesday. You cannot register before that. So make sure you are there for 7pm and the “register” button should then be live. click it and sign up as fast as you can :)

        • June 4, 2010 at 3:09pm

Ah okay i see. I thought it was like a registration to the channel4 website or something so thanks for making that clear to me! :)
Ahh can’t wait for live feed again!

how do you pay for it casuse i dont have bank card

    • I would imagin you would have to have a debit/credit card im affraid.

      • BB11ROCKS
      • June 4, 2010 at 4:03pm

A possible solution is a prepayed gift card you get from companies like Visa and Mastercard. They have them in WHSmith . Never thought of them myself saw it suggested over on BBSpy

paulaca on DS who is C4 Viewers Editor has just posted reponse indicating Paypal will be available to to pay for streaming too

      • Aah, that’s good. I would rather pay through PayPal.

          • June 4, 2010 at 6:23pm

          hows pay pal work

          • Paypal in like an online bank. You upload money onto it via bank card and the money tolls up your credit.

yeeeeeeeeeeeh live feed btw its weird coz bblb is on at 7 :30 on the 9th of june so we’ll see the opening crdits for bb11 before the launch at 9 pm i bet bblb is to explain the launch night twist :wondering: :bb11:

    • Any shows before the launch night always you old credits, or remixed ones. For example, the BBBA titles was a remix and not the upcoming BB11 titles.

so happy i could burst all the complaining worked and sense was seen cant wait for bb even more now and a big thank you to you guys for breaking the news last night with your ingenious investigation last night :) :bb11:

    • The source code finding was fun, and turned out to not be a waste of time. – Good to see yours, and other petitions was a good throughput.

        • June 4, 2010 at 8:53pm

Indeed it was a fun and :surprised: moment when I found the words ‘live stream’ embedded in several entries in a search on the C4 web site from end of May ( Which they have since removed it seems ). Added to what others had found earlier in main page source code and some one later spotted in a CSS file it just got better and better . Didn’t dare believe Live Feed was back.

To come home at dinner time and find it officially confirmed was just AWESOME Im still in a state of shock now . Still keep reading about it to confirm Im not dreaming it

Whoops that didnt come out right  I was meaning I found word ‘live streaming’ in several entries for test web pages dated end of May when I did search on C4 site :) Will be interesting I think to see if the ‘live streaming’ button goes where those results indicated

    • June 4, 2010 at 8:00pm

Think they’ll let people in North America purchase & watch? :worried:

    • I really doubt it. As of yet, people in the ROI can’t even watch. Sorry about this heartbreak.

In past I am aware of people in USA been able to purchase feed with CC but then having to use various methods to circumvent the GeoIP stuff the does the blocking

      • Techniclly it is possible via “proxies” – Like i often watch ABC online via a proxy, heat-shield i think its called.

Although, legally, I don’t recommend any methods like this ;)

          • BB11ROCKS
          • June 4, 2010 at 8:57pm

Same here I dont condone it from a legal standpoint thats why I didnt elaborate much  . A UK Proxy or UK VPN to connect to are two possibilities that spring to mind

            • June 5, 2010 at 12:09am

hypothetically, how does that work with a wireless router?

            • BB11ROCKS
            • June 5, 2010 at 12:21am

Should work fine. The router is the visible IP and the pc’s connecting usually under NAT. VPN would be a little more fiddly as approprate ports would need opening on router I would expect. Not sonething Ive used here but I know people who use both methods very sucessfully. They are expats in Florida that like to watch UK TV online
